initial consultation & client brief
The Initial Consultation is the first stage of your garden design. Harry will meet you at your home to discuss your garden design requirements. He will assess the existing architecture and site conditions and will discuss general concepts and the project budget. You may take a note of the design ideas and plant solutions discussed for implementation by yourself. A fee is payable at end of this one and a half hour meeting.
If you require the development of full landscape plans Harry will send you a reverse brief and fee proposal for your consideration. On your approval he will proceed with the Site Analysis and Concept Design.
site analysis & concept design
A full inventory of the site will then be taken. You can assist in this process by providing all existing house, site, survey and service plans. If the site
is large or steep a surveyor may be have to be engaged.
The Concept Design will be presented and explained to you on site. All relevant material and plant examples will also be presented. You will have the opportunity to review the Concept Design before committing to the third and last stage of the design process - the Landscape Masterplan.
landscape masterplan
The Landscape Masterplan is a precise and detailed version of the
Concept Design with all relevant alterations and additions. It is drawn
in CAD, to scale and includes a sectional elevation and construction
and material notes of the hard landscaping.
Documents that may accompany the Landscape Masterplan are included in the Design Documentation stage.
design documentation
- Planting Plan - detailed position of all plants; a plant schedule listing the botanical name, size and quantity of each plant
- Set Out and Grading Plan - set out of all constructed elements
of the design and new levels to be created before construction - Lighting Plan and Irrigation Plan - to be prepared by lighting
and irrigation contractors - Construction Details - to be prepared by structural engineer.
project costing
Harry works with experienced landscape contractors and can arrange quotations for your garden project. Alternatively you are welcome to
use a landscape contractor of your choosing. Harry can also source materials and plants.
site administration
For a successful project outcome Harry highly recommends that he oversees critical phases of the landscape construction process. This service forms part of the Site Administration stage and will incur a separate fee.
